As we learn to deal with this “new normal,” there are services continually being established to support particularly the vulnerable population. The Richmond Women’s Resource Centre is once again hosting its annual banquet and auction this weekend on March 7 at Continental Seafood Restaurant (150-11700 Cambie Rd.) in Richmond. Celebrate International Women’s Day, help contribute to the establishment of a gender-balanced society, and enjoy some delicious Chinese food too. The event takes place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will also feature keynote speaker and Dragons’ Den alum Elaine Tan Comeau. Tickets are $50 per person or $500 for a table. Purchase online here.

The deadline for filing your Canada Revenue Agency 2019 personal income tax is right around the corner. Remember, it’s important to file your taxes to whether you earn income or not to ensure you’re receiving all of the Canadian tax system benefits and credits.

For the seventh consecutive year, the annual Rose’s Angels event will be taking place in February delivering care packages to those in need within the Richmond community. Items in need (new only please) include toiletries like soap and shampoo; cold-weather accessories including gloves, socks and scarves; and non-perishable foods such as canned goods, pasta and granola bars.
