Power remains expensive for low-income residents

Following some deliberation, the The British Columbia Utilities Commission has decided against ordering BC Hydro to subsidize electricity costs for low-income individuals, citing a lack of legal authority.

The commission was given various recommendations by the B.C. Public Interest Advocacy Centre including discounting rates up to a threshold, as well as dismissal of certain fees for the select demographic.
