Launched earlier this summer, the #300ToLive campaign’s mission is to call on the BC Government to transition the temporary $300 COVID-19 Support for those on Income & Disability Assistance into a permanent increase. Since its start, responses by those who are currently receiving the subsidy have been pouring in sharing how it has impacted their lives, and would continue to do so if the supplement continued on. You can read some of the stories or share your own here.
The initiative needs your help! Here are a few things you do from home:
- Read, sign, and share the open letter to Premier Horgan and Minister Simpson
- Phone and/or email the Premier, the Minister, and your MLA (phone script and email template provided)
- Host or join an event — supporting each other in participating in actions together
- Share a photo on the website or social media on how the $300 helps you and your community (remember to tag #300ToLive)
If you’re interested in joining the organizing team, hosting an event, or contributing your skills, send an email to threehundredtolive@gmail.com. Help spread the word! Supporters can follow the campaign via the mailing list and on social media platforms @300ToLive, where updates and future actions will be posted to Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
