The 10th anniversary of the BC Thanksgiving Food Drive will be the week of Sept. 16, starting with the delivery of boxes and or flyers to homes and business throughout Richmond and then the pick up and delivery of all food to the Richmond Food Bank on the 21st (cash donations may only be made directly to RFB).This year people with an interest in serving in the community are invited to make this amazing work grow even bigger. Can’t wait for Culture Days to check out “Hope Beyond Homelessness,” the inspiring play by the Richmond Advocacy and Support Committee? Exploring the real human cost of homelessness through poetry, song, drama, music, photography, art and personal stories, the performance will also take place one week earlier at the St. Alban Anglican Church (7260 St. Albans Rd., Richmond B.C.) fundraiser on Sept. 21 at 7 p.m.. Culture Days, a nation-wide celebration of arts and culture,  is coming to Richmond in a few weeks. On Friday Sept. 27, guests will have an opportunity to watch “Hope Beyond Homelessness,” a 30-minute play starring people with lived experience of poverty and unstable housing. Produced by the Richmond Advocacy and Support Committee, it is a story of one person’s journey through the shame and indignity of living on the streets. More info here.
