HISTORY

The Poverty Response Committee was established in 2001 as an RCSAC sub-committee in response to a research report "Poverty in Richmond: A Sense of Belonging", also known as the "The Poverty Report Card" (2000). The Richmond Food Bank Society administers the funds for the Richmond Poverty Response Committee to achieve it objectives. The Poverty Response Committee has since evolved from being a sub-committee of the RCSAC to being its own entity. It is currently composed of three active task forces: the Affordable Housing Task Force, Food Security Task Force and the Transportation Task Force.
