Committee Meeting

FOOD SECURITY

The goal of this task force is to promote the understanding of food security, which means: That all people in the community, at all times, have access to nutritious, safe, personally acceptable and culturally appropriate foods, produced in ways that are environmentally sound and socially just. To promote awareness, the Food Security task force holds an annual public event in October celebrating World Food Day.

In February 2008, the Food Security Task force held the first Food For All – A dialogue to make Richmond more food secure. This highly successful conference may well become an annual event. (Conference brochure and report coming soon.)

The Food Security Task Force meets:
3rd Thursday of the month 4:30pm-6pm
